Our Mission

Our mission is to provide advanced behavioural and technical treatments to diagnose and treat serious harms confronting victims of online deception.

The Foundation is leading the way in delvering specialised treatments to victims of crimes of deception.

The cyber and psychological impacts experienced by the community can result in significant harms - psychologically, financially and technically. Response support is critical.

Foundation Board of Directors

Charlotte Davidson

Interim CEO - IDCARE Group. Charlotte has over 20 years experience across the Australian and NSW governments, including 12 years in cyber security and cybercrime intelligence. Charlotte was a founding member and senior executive with the central NSW government cyber function, Cyber Security NSW, providing services across NSW government and local councils, and leading the state’s cyber security strategy and policy. Charlotte was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2020 to undertake international research on cyber security awareness. She completed an Executive Master of Public Administration through the Australian New Zealand School of Government in 2022.

Delia Rickard

Delia was the Deputy Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for over a decade. Before that she held a variety of senior roles at the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and the ACCC as well as working for Federal Ministers, the Australian Law Reform Commission & lecturing in law. She oversaw the ACCC’s scams work during her time there and the establishment of moneysmart.gov.au at ASIC amongst other things. She has been awarded the Public Service Medal, the SOCAP Lifetime Achievement award and the Inaugural Law Council of Australia Australian Consumer Rights Award in 2022.

Olga Ganopolsky

Olga Ganopolsky is Macquarie Group’s General Counsel - Privacy and Data and is well versed in the subject of data protection with extensive experience in detailed privacy policy challenges, law reform and ongoing management of legal and strategic issues. Much of Olga’s work involves implementing new technologies and addressing privacy requirements in an increasingly complex co-regulatory and sometimes contentious environment. Most recently this has included work on the implementations of General Data Protection Regulation and the reforms to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 and related regimes, advising artificial intelligence and CPS 234.

Jerry Parwada

Professor Jerry Parwada, Chartered Banker, GAICD, MCISI, specializes in investment management and financial markets, leveraging his expertise to shape both academia and industry. A Professor of Finance at UNSW Business School in Sydney, Australia, his career has spanned over two decades. Prof. Parwada has held key leadership positions at UNSW, including Head of School - Banking and Finance and Director of Academic Strategy. Beyond academia, he has long-standing interest in the deepening of financial systems in Australia and abroad. He served on the Governing Board of the Financial Research Network of Australia. He was a member of the management and scholarship committees of the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre Limited and the Finsia Institutional Markets Industry Council.

Brenda Wiederhold

Professor Dr. Brenda K. Wiederhold, Ph.D., MBA, BCB, BCN, FRSM, is Co-Founder of the Virtual Reality Medical Center and Founder of the Interactive Media Institute, a non-profit organisation advancing technology-enhanced healthcare. A Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the United States and Europe, she serves as Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Milan. An internationally recognized expert in Virtual Reality, Biofeedback, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dr. Wiederhold has conducted more than 10,000 VR-assisted therapy sessions and authored over 400 scientific publications and 19 books. She has organised the International CyberPsychology, CyberTherapy & Social Networking Conference for 29 years and is Editor-in-Chief of the MEDLINE-indexed journal CyberPsychology, Behavior and Social Networking.

Samantha Gavel

Samantha has twelve years of board experience in the non-profit sector as a Director and Chair of the Council of the Women’s College at the University of Sydney, from 2012 to 2024. As a Director and then Chair of Council, she gained skills and experience in board level governance and leadership, strategy development and future planning, financial oversight, capital funding, community engagement and institutional performance. Samantha also served as the Independent Member of the Private Health Insurance Code Compliance Committee for ten years, between 2015 and 2025. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sydney University. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed accredited mediation training with LEADR.
